TOUR DE ROCK - CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY FUNDRAISER - AUGUST 31st!

Year after year proceeds from Greek Fest have been directed for charity purposes and to help individuals in need. The Victoria and Vancouver Island Greek Community Society has also been sponsoring community events on an on-going basis as one of the society's major focuses.  Initiatives such as Greek Fest allow the V&VIGCS to be able to give back to the community that has welcomed the Greek culture with open arms.  Below is a list of some of the events, programs and other worthy causes that are being supported, and have been supported by the Victoria and Vancouver Island Greek Community in the past.

This year GF-2011 is partnering with the Saanich Firefighters to assist in the Hot Lunch Program.  This program provides prepared, nutritious meals for school children in Victoria.  The need to make sure that our children receive healthy, nourishing food is an investment in our future, and the V&VIGCS is proud to be a sponsor of this worthy cause. 

Also, new for 2011, Greek Fest has partnered with TOUR DE ROCK and the CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY for a very special fundraiser on AUGUST 31, 2011.  A portion of ALL GREEK FEST PROCEEDS will be donated to TOUR DE ROCK and the CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY.  We at Greek Fest believe in this worthy initiative and we think it is a great way to help all the Victorians and other visitors of Greek Fest to help give back.  Please make a special effort to visit us on WEDNESDAY!
